William Weissert is a freelance trombonist and audio engineer based out of Muncie, Indiana. He attended high school at Triton Jr Sr High School in Bourbon, IN and recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Media Production. He has over 10 years of experience on trombone, and has been a part of several collegiate and professional ensembles. During college, he has performed with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, traveled to Washington DC to perform at the American Trombone Workshop with the Cardinal Trombone Choir, and performed internationally and held masterclasses with students in Concepción and the Dichato Jazz Festival in Chile with Ball State's Premiere Jazz Ensemble. He currently plays lead trombone with the Richmond Jazz Orchestra in Richmond, IN, and has subbed in various groups around Indianapolis, including the West Winds Big Band and the Dan Nix Big Band. He is a graduate of Ball State's renowned Music Media Production program, and has done studio recordings of several student projects. He has also done volunteer/shadowing work in live sound for the International Trombone Festival and the Jazz Kitchen.
William loves to teach, and offers in-person and virtual lessons covering trombone fundamentals, improvisation, solo/ensemble repertoire, and music theory. These lessons are available to all ages and skill levels. Contact Will here for more information.
